What do I need to do right now, since I’m saved? Don’t be ashamed to own up to it around others. Matt. 5:16; Lk. 9:26. Attend church services every Sunday and during the week. Heb. 1:25; Lk 4:16.

Laying aside wrong and adding on right. Eph. 4:22-32; Col 3:8-10; Heb. 12 1-2. Establish a daily quiet time which you will read and study God’s word with prayer.

How to handle doubt when it comes: Know that Satan brings doubt and know that the power of God in us is greater than Satan. I Jh. 4:4. Know what the Bible says about your salvation. Eph. 2:8-9; Rom 10:9-10, 13; Acts 16:30-31.

Dealing with sin now that I’m saved. I Jn 1:9. Because the Christian has sinned, does not stop the saved relationship. A son or daughter does not stop being in the family because they have done wrong. We are sons and daughters of God.

Old friends and the world. I Jh. 2:15-17; II Cor. 6; 14-18; James 4:4; Matt. 6:24.

Dealing with temptation. Know where it comes from. It comes from self (the old nature) and Satan. James 1:14; Matt. 4:1-3. Know that the temptation is not the sin. But conceiving it and yielding to it, is. James 1:15. We overcome temptation by: Faith – 1 Jh 5:4; God’s Word – Matt. 4:1-11; Rom. 10:17; Yielding to God and resisting Satan – James 4:7; Taking the way of escape – I Cor. 10:13; and Prayer – Phil. 4:6

The importance of God’s Word. Ps. 119:9, 11, 105. All of Ps. 119 should be read often. Jh 1:1; II Tim. 2:15; II Tim. 3:14-17; Heb. 4:12.

Faith and its importance: Heb. 11:1, 6; II Cor. 5:7; James 1:5-8. Simply Put. Faith is taking God at His Word. It is standing on what God has said and knowing it will come to pass.

The importance of prayer: Lk. 18:1; I Thess. 5:17; I Tim. 2:8; Phil. 4:6. We should pray without display – Matt. 6:5, 7; we should pray in line with God’s will – I Jh 5:14-15. Pray in faith. James 1:6-7; Mk 11:22-24. Fasting is sometimes involved in prayer. Matt. 17:14-21; Matt. 6:16-18.

Understanding the Holy Spirit. He is a person and not a thing – Jh. 14:16-17, 26; Jh. 16:13. He dwells in the Christian but not in the sinner – Jh. 14:17; I Cor. 2:14. He
teaches us. Jh. 14:26. He gives the Christian spiritual gifts or spiritual abilities. I Cor. 12:1-7.

What is the Church? Baptized believers in Christ (Acts 2:38, 41) the “Called Out Ones” – The Greek word for Church is “Ecclesia” and it means the called out ones, the body of Christ (Romans 12:4-5; I Cor. 12:12-14).

Who can be a part of the Church? Only the Saved. (Acts 2:47)

The Ordinance of the Church: Baptism and the Lord’s Supper. (Matt. 28:19-20; Acts 2:41; I cor. 11:23-31)

The law and authority of the Church: The scripture. (II Tim. 3:14, 17; II Tim. 3:14-15; Prov. 30:5-6; Ps. 119:9, 11; Rev. 22:18-19)

The head of the Church: Christ through the His Holy Spirit.

The Physical leader that is placed over the Church: The Pastor. (Lk 9:23; Eph. 5:23-24; I Cor. 11:1; I Tim. 3:1-7; Heb. 13:7, 17; I Pet. 5:1-4)

The Church Covenant

The financial plan of the Church: Tithes and Offerings. (Malachi 3:8-12; Matt. 23:23; Matt. 5:20

Dress Code of the Church: Women and girls are to wear skirts or dresses; no T-straps or sundresses unless a blouse or shirt is underneath. Please ladies no pants unless authorized by the Pastor along with the church! Men are to wear slacks. Boys may wear shorts at, on, or below the knee; no tank tops for men or boys. NO SAGGING PANTS OR EARRINGS WORN BY MALES.
